2008 Columbus
Summer Camp Program

The
2008 Columbus Gym Summer Camp Program is committed to providing
children 2.0 to 5.6 years of age with a warm, personal, stimulating, well
supervised and supportive environment which maintains standards appropriate
for each child.
Our diverse child-oriented program is designed
to enhance the development of
social, emotional, physical and intellectual
growth through age appropriate activities.
In our
spacious, fully equipped, air conditioned classrooms, children participate in
interactive play activities, arts and crafts, cooperative games, block building,
dramatic play, stories and cooking. In addition, our program offers a
variety of
specialized activities. Each group's program is specifically planned to
meet the
interests and needs of the campers.
-
Science
- Children explore and discover their environment with
air, water, sand, and plants. They also learn about animals
and recycling, etc.
-
Special
Event Days - Children will
have the opportunity to enjoy wonderfully planned weekly
events; Pizza Day, petting zoo visits, musical tours,
local field trips, and Friday fun games at Central Park
(age appropriate).

Our outdoor play area
gives active children space to run, jump, and climb on the jungle gym, make
castles in the sand box, as well as enjoy water activities in sprinklers.
As part of the camp
program, children will receive movement and gymnastic instruction in our fully
equipped gymnastic facility. With the assistance of our highly trained
gymnastic instructors the children will learn a series of movement skills, motor
skills, balance and coordination on various movement education equipment.
The children will also learn through a progression of skills basic gymnastics on
all pieces of apparatus; balance beam, floor exercise, bars, vaulting and
trampoline.
Our staff (drawing from
the Columbus Pre School and other independent schools) and class size further
exemplify the quality one expects of an excellent early childhood program.
Each of our classrooms is staffed by a head teacher, assistant teacher and a
student assistant. Class sizes are a maximum of 12 - 18 children,
depending upon the age of the children.
